About The Artist
Gentry Lambert Scott has grown up in Utah Valley her whole life. She is the youngest of seven children to Raymond and the late Kerri Lambert. Gentry and her family love to go camping, hunting, and hiking together. Often exploring the great Wasatch Front, Rocky Mountains, Uinta’s, Bear River Range, La Sal and much more. She has always had a passion for art, drawing and painting; specifically, wildlife and landscape scenes since she was a young girl.
Gentry’s lifelong career and occupation goal has simply always been an Artist. She started her wildlife and landscape art journey using graphite and charcoal, then gradually experimenting with watercolors, tempera and acrylics as she developed through grade school. At the age of thirteen, she received an oil paint set for Christmas and was eager to experiment with the new medium she didn’t know she would soon grow to love. Although she took basic elective art classes in grade school, she expanded her knowledge on her own time developing her own style. Gentry often entered her work into various Art Show Competitions throughout school, the community, the State and Nationally. She grew up showing Livestock for the Salt Lake County Jr. Live Stock Show, where she was also able to enter and compete in the Art Show for six years; each year she was awarded the Best of Show, First Place and Selected for State Fair where she received Best of Show and First place as well. Gentry is a humble self-taught oil paints artist. Often referring and referencing to YouTube for self-help, examples, how-to’s, etc. She has trained her eye to see shapes, colors, hues, values and textures. She has met with many established Artists and Galleries varying in Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho and Utah and feels inspired to create quality art. She has participated in various Workshop’s to receive valuable criticism and critique to improve her skill set and techniques. She has grown to love and appreciate the true talent, time, perseverance, and skill it can take to create a unique, and personal piece.
Gentry is always striving to improve and progress as an individual and more so as an artist. As you will see in her artwork, the personal experiences and journey’s she has taken have had a significant impact on her work in how she interprets and perceives a few of God’s greatest creations. We hope you can appreciate and love her work, as much as she enjoys creating it, thank you for all of the love and support!
